Summer Begins @ #rdcHQ
Date 16 June 2016
Greetings at #rdcHQ! Things may appear quiet, but in fact, this is one of our best and busiest seasons ever! We’re getting started by upgrading the 351-Building with a fresh coat of paint and we can’t wait for the end result. We’ll post updates as the project progresses!
And of course, Summer doesn’t officially start until June 20th, but we’re well underway at Rural Design Collective Headquarters. We have an amazing art show in our street level gallery, “Spring-Thing.” The art will be on display all summer and it features the photographic works of Kimberlie Bussmann, Dune Fougerolles, Santiago Martinez, Sarah Sax, and Evan Siebert. These artists represent the finest in their medium from PHS Student Media. Ms. Bussmann recently co-curated the “Celebrating The Art Of Lois Miller” exhibit and is pursuing photography as a career.
The exhibit opened May 28th and will be on display all summer with incoming art and artists to be introduced throughout the show’s duration. All of the work in the gallery is available for purchase and doing so will help launch the careers of these promising young artists! Many are gifted in the performing arts as well as visual arts, so please do yourself a favor and see the work of “Spring-Thing.” The gallery is located on 351 6th Street in Port Orford on the corner of Highway 101 and Harbor Drive. There are doorbells at both entrances, and the door on Harbor Drive is always open during regular business hours.
In other news, We have been earning a lot of “Extra Credit” in the winter season supporting our community and we’ll have more announcements as the summer takes shape. Our most recent project: creating a design for a local fundraiser to raise money for our local high school.
Stay tuned for more from #rdcHQ!
