A beloved member and photographer of the Port Orford community, Lois was known by many for her charming personality and continuous love for horses and the arts. Most known for her bird photography that displayed tremendous amounts of creativity and unique presentation; Lois awed everyone with her art. Her artistry was not only appreciated by her friends and family, it was revered and showcased in many magazines and galleries.
To continue Loisís legacy in our community, a third printing of her annual Rare Bird Arts calendar is now available, and future calendars will be created per Lois's wish to celebrate and share her artwork with the community and the world. Proceeds from the 2016 calendar will be donated to PHS Project Graduation and The Lois Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund established by The Port Orford Rotary:

Lois Miller captured images of wildlife near her home in Port Orford, Oregon and abroad since 1984. She explored the native fauna of the west through such media as oil, pastels, wood-burning, micro-scrimshaw, ceramic tile mosaics, and photography. Her fascination with birds took her to places as remote as St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Strait, where colonial seabirds number in the millions. However, most of these incredible birds were photographed right here on the Oregon Coast. Gone too soon, Lois was indeed a much loved mother and grandmother, memorable friend, creative inspiration and an exceptional artist. She was one of a kind.
Thank you for helping us continue Lois Miller's outreach to the world.
