Jenn Covington is a work in progress. If there’s something she’s always wanted to do but never has, and you give her the opportunity to do it or learn it, she’s all over it. Sleep is overrated.

Jenn has been a purveyor of many creative services in the advertising industry for over 20 years. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she now lives in Lexington, South Carolina. Many moons ago, when computers were on the cusp of actually being used to generate graphic design (when a one-gigabyte hard drive meant you had all the room in the world), Jenn was taught the ins and outs of graphic design by hand — french curves, rubylith, wax machines, and many other fun, forgotten tools. Did she ever had to use any of those tools in the real world? Hardly — only their computer equivalents. Although she admits that learning these hand tools helped her have a clearer understanding and a love of detail work that goes into every stage of producing an effective design.

Jenn was lucky to hang with some very talented designers and marketing people at an award-winning Columbia, SC ad agency for most of her agency career. After adorning many hats in the local advertising industry in the Columbia area for many years, she decided to shake up her world a bit and dive into uncertain freelance waters in March 2007, and she never looked back. The advertising roller coaster has rewarded her with experience in anything from design and copy writing to photography, and everything in between. When it comes to designing an effective marketing tool, Jenn’s experience has taught her to appreciate the detail work that goes into figuring out how to articulate and demonstrate a design strategy aimed at solving a communication problem. Wow, what a mouthful. Bottom line, she likes a challenge.
