Langlois

Langlois is a small town of less than 1,000 residents. The little town hosts a grocery store/market, farm supply store, coffee house, post office, The Greasy Spoon Cafe and a gallery or two. There is a church in town as well. The town is quaint and is surrounded by farms in the area. There is a local produce farm called Valley Flora. This farm is run by a family of women and sells fresh produce to the local community.

While visiting Langlois don’t forget to visit Floras Lake where the windsurfers are frequently getting their exercise by surfing the wind across the lake, sometimes it looks like they are flying.

The city of Coquille (pronounced ko-KEEL), a wood-products manufacturing community and the Coos County seat, is located in southwest Oregon about twenty-five miles up the Coquille River from the Oregon Coast. Gold Beach

Gold Beach has great weather for a coastal town. The average temperature is in the 70’s during summer which is great for outdoor activities to enjoy in Gold Beach. Some of these activities are: beach combing, agate hunting, kite flying, wildlife and scenic photography, bird watching, boating, fishing and swimming. There are a lot of hiking opportunities as well. Many people go south just a little to Pistol River to enjoy the wild wind and they go windsurfing! Pistol River hosts an annual event, the Wave Bash in June.
