We are expecting rain for the next few days and we're hoping it will aid in the firefighting efforts for our neighbors near the Moon Complex fire. Stay safe! ⎈⎈⎈

Our skies are a lovely shade of Navigator Blue at the Cape Blanco Lighthouse just beyond the ominous cloud of smoke; The lighthouse is cast with the glow of the sun filtered through the smoke of the Moon Complex forest fire up the Rogue River located about 30 miles southeast of Port Orford. ⎈⎈⎈

The change of seasons is when the beautiful wildflowers we have been admiring all Spring and Summer make way for the Fall showing of Fungi. Here's a pretty orange specimen that poked its way up through the duff in time for our morning hike.

With no mouths to feed it will be time for our lighthouse H. rustica family to head south for the season. Barn swallows like to return to their nesting site each year. We're always glad to see them. ⎈⎈⎈

Our little pair of juvenile barn swallows (H. rustica) keep a watchful eye out for the lighthouse as they wait for their morning meal. ⎈⎈⎈
