What a thrill it was to have photographer David Zapatka travel from the East Coast all the way out to the most westerly Cape Blanco Lighthouse to photograph our historic lighthouse against the night sky! And what a show the stars put on for us right before the marine layer rolled in, blanketing the cape for the evening. Incredible!

"The winds are calm, 4 inches on the rain gauge (!) and it was a dry walk in." All of this rain leads to a lot of traffic on the lighthouse gate road: watch the road and don’t step on the snails and earthworms on your way in!
